The National Basketball Association will soon wrap up the 2017-2018 season as the NBA Finals 2018 will kick off on May 31. It’s going to be an exciting basketball match-up between the top-seeded team from the east and the west. Thirty teams started out on this ball war but only one team will come out the victor in the finals. In the playoff series, it’s too early to tell who will make it to the final cut of NBA Finals 2018.

In the finals, it’s the battle between the east and the west division. Here are the top strong contenders for the most coveted NBA Championship this season; Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets from the west, and Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers in the east.

Golden State Warriors

The defending champions are more than hopeful to defend their title this season and earn their third championship ring. Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson are putting up good numbers for the team as they are ahead against San Antonio Spurs in the first round playoff series. Stephen Curry, the two-time regular season MVP, is not expected to play very soon in the playoffs yet due to an injury. But Head Coach Steve Kerr is confident they could still win in the western conference finals without Stephen Curry.

Houston Rockets

The number one team in the league after the regular season is hoping to clinch the NBA title this season with James Harden, the top contender for this season’s MVP race, on their side. The teams has been solid and finished the regular season with 65 wins to earn the number one spot in the western conference, and hopes to end this season with a championship ring.

Boston Celtics

After the team got Kyrie Irving in the trade, they were having a good run as a team. While unfortunate injuries of key players like Gordon Hayward early in the season, and Kyrie Irving towards the end of the season, the team managed to remain number 2 in the east, in the regular season.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Being the defending champion in the eastern conference finals last season, Lebron James and the rest of the Cavaliers are doing whatever it takes to salvage a win and find their way back to the NBA Finals this season. The team had gone through trades and couldn’t find their rhythm, but managed to stay afloat and hoping to get in the front seat in the eastern division.
