What Is Air Charter?

Air charter is the business or act of lending or renting an aircraft, either to transport passengers or cargo. Clients charter an entire plane as opposed to a single seat on a commercial flight. Jet charter flights are regulated by the FAA and differ from commercial flights in that they are not scheduled, except on a very limited basis. Air charter is also called air taxi or ad-hoc flights. Air charter is frequently used for business, but is also often used for cargo, air ambulance, and for large groups traveling together.
