What Is Oceanic Airspace?

Oceanic airspace is any airspace above an ocean. This airspace is considered international and is therefore subject to the rules and procedures of the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization). Any controlled oceanic airspace is divided into regions that are controlled by a controlling authority that borders it.
