What Are Avionics?

Avionics are any electrical systems used on aircraft, spacecraft, and on artificial satellites. These systems include navigation, communications, hundreds of other systems that have specialized functions on an aircraft, and the systems that display and manage all of the other systems. Avionics systems range in complexity from a simple searchlight used by a police helicopter to an advanced airborne warning system used by military aircraft as a tactical system.
