Class I Navigation
What Is Class I Navigation in Aviation?
Class I navigation is any flight operating in airspace that is either controlled or uncontrolled, but that usually requires the use of NAVAIDS, or navigational aids, such as aeronautical charts. Class I navigation includes both visual flight rules (regulations for flight in clear weather conditions) and instrument flight rules (regulations for flight in weather conditions that result in poor visibility) on any routes or airways that fall within the operations of ICAO for NAVAIDS.
