Who Is the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)?
The ICAO, or the International Civil Aviation Organization, is an organization within the United Nations. It was founded in 1944 and is comprised of almost 200 member countries and organizations. The ICAO issues identifying codes for each airport and also issues guidelines and best practices for efficiency, safety, security, economic sustainability, and environmental responsibility. They have developed strategies and techniques for navigation and flight safety and also assist air traffic control around the world.
