jet charter repositioning

Private jet repositioning is probably the highest driver in charter pricing. The aircraft that has to do the least amount of repositioning for a flight will always win, if we are comparing apples to apples. This is why on-demand jet charter is far superior to any other form of charter. Till this day I am not sure how people get suckered into membership programs and jet cards.

Specifically, I don’t understand membership programs and jet card programs that do not have their own fleets. You are basically getting convinced to pay premium prices for on-demand jet charter.

Why Is On-Demand Jet Charter Better Than Jet Cards?

There are simply more choices. A broker has access to an entire fleet. That’s correct – we have access to EJM, XO, Vista, Delta – just to name a few, and we also have access to 1000’s of more planes.

I have clients who have jet cards and 8/10 times I can beat their membership pricing. Why is that? When I source aircraft I can find the aircraft with the least amount of repositioning needed to assist the client. We use empty legs, one-ways, and (depending on the mission and days) we can usually find companies that are hungry for the business.

The key is to find an aircraft that is doing a similar routing to yours. That means hours of research on different platforms. It’s almost like fishing and you have to be patient.

When Should I Schedule A Private Jet For The Best Price?

Typically, the best time to find good deals is three to five days prior to your scheduled departure. The empty leg market is fast-paced and empty legs are usually posted just a few days prior. The key to getting really good deals is flexibility and patience. The really great deals are always last-minute. Not everyone has flexibility, and for our corporate clients who need specific times and dates we are extremely competitive. Simply by knowing the market and being able to negotiate on our clients’ behalf, we can save our corporate clients lots of money.

Be Upfront With Needs & Budget

At the end of the day, it’s all about communication, building a relationship, and understanding your needs. If you can clearly communicate your needs and budget upfront, that helps tremendously in getting the best price. Let us know how we can help! 1-888-507-8582

#BrokerTip: You can save $1000’s of dollars depending on aircraft type by driving 30 minutes or an hour. For example, if you live in West Palm Beach and the aircraft you charter is in Fort Lauderdale, for a Light Jet that can save you around $500-$1000 dollars to drive between the two first. On a Heavy Jet you can save $1,000-$3,000 dollars and most Heavy Jets don’t like doing short legs, so it’s a win-win for everyone.
