Runway Heading
What Is a Runway Heading?
The runway heading is the compass direction that the centerline of the runway points to. Knowing the direction of the runway that should be used helps pilots ensure that they are landing on the correct runway. Runway heading is measured using a magnetic compass and these headings are described as, for example, 9 points east means 90 degrees on the compass.
