Buy a Small, Soft Bag for Jet Charters
Since you will likely pack your suitcase or bag to the brim, picking a bag that is somewhat small can help you to keep it light. Selecting a smaller bag may help to ensure that it will fit inside of the luggage compartment on different types of private planes. Flexible bags will also be better for both fitting properly and packing just a little more than hard suitcases.
Stay Away from “Just in Case”
When going on a long trip, it can be tempting to pack some items “just in case”. These items will end up taking up too much space, however, and will end up encroaching on the space that you have for your necessities. Stick to the basics instead.
Pack One Week’s Worth of Clothing
If your trip is for longer than one week, pack only one week’s worth of clothing. This will give you ample time to find a local dry cleaner or cleaning service, while providing you with enough clothing to mix and match and keep your look fresh for several weeks. If you will be jet chartering between two extreme climates, pack just a few extra days worth of clothing to keep it as light as possible.
Keep Your Footwear Simple
It is rare that more than three different types of footwear will actually be needed on a trip, so try to stick to three. Think about the amount of space that will be taken up when considering each pair and try to choose options that are small and light, but versatile enough to fit the bill for all the situations that you will encounter. Wear the bulkiest pair of shoes on the flight to save even more space.
Keep Toiletries Minimal
You may not be subject to the same kind of regulations on toiletries when you are flying private, but it is still smart to keep your toiletries to a minimum. It is easy to bring travel sized bottles and simply buy more travel sized bottles if you need to after you have been at your destination for a while. This way you have everything that you need, but you don’t have to spare a lot of space for it.
When booking your private jet charter, be sure to let your broker know if you have specific baggage requirements. If you will need to bring many suitcases or other items, it may be necessary to book a specific type of jet that will be able to accommodate your needs.
