Visibility
How Do Pilots and Controllers Identify Visibility Levels?
Visibility refers to how well a pilot can see objects that may impact the safety of the aircraft. Visibility is measured by how well unlit objects are visible during the day and how well lit objects are visible at night. Visibility is of even greater importance during takeoff, landing, and any time an aircraft changes elevation.
